Position Overview
We are seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of consulting engineering experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about their craft, enthusiastic about growth opportunities, and motivated to work on a variety of projects. Responsibilities
- Creating electrical construction documents including drawings, power system studies, and specifications.
- Designing power systems such as electrical service entrances, normal and emergency power distribution, and feeder/branch circuit sizing.
- Designing lighting systems, including interior and exterior layouts, lighting controls, photometric calculations, and ensuring energy code compliance.
- Participating in design and construction meetings, reviewing contractor submittals, responding to RFIs, and addressing plan review comments.
- Reviewing deliverables for quality assurance and providing mark-ups/comments for incorporation into design documents.
- Conducting site visits for evaluations, data collection, and punch walks.
- Managing tasks independently and supervising junior team members.
- Handling multiple projects simultaneously.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 (DOE)
- Discretionary end-of-year bonus based on company, team, and individual performance

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of consulting engineering experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other relevant engineering software/tools
- Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Electrical Engineer in Washington or Idaho
- Experience with power system analysis software (SKM, ETAP, or Easypower)
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems, including data/communications, fire alarm, access control, surveillance, and audio/video
- Experience with Photovoltaic (PV) and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- Background in commercial, multi-family, or industrial projects

CAD Drafter/Designer
Evans Engineering and Consulting is a progressive Electrical Engineering firm located in Post Falls, Idaho. We are currently seeking qualified applicants for a Drafter/Designer position to join our growing team. Applicants must possess a two year degree in CAD Drafting Technology or equivalent. Applicants working towards a degree may be considered.
Successful candidates need to have thorough knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD, the ability to develop electrical details, diagrams and construction documents. The ideal candidate will be organized, work well under pressure and have good analytical problem solving skills. Knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical systems, telecommunication systems, lighting and control systems are all a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities of a CAD Drafter:
- Developing electrical construction documents using AutoCAD
- Developing 2D blocks, details and diagrams in AutoCAD
- Collaborating with designers and engineering staff on multi-discipline projects
- Work within and develop company standards to increase productivity
Requirements:
- Two year degree or equivalent
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Understanding of construction documents
Preferred skills:
- Experience with Revit
- Microsoft Office proficient
- Good attention to detail
